Blackletter typefaces have been around for hundreds of years, and their history and style is very interesting.
Constellation is a modern twist. The set uses a mix of basic geometric shapes such as rectangles with shaved sides and arching shapes for letters that need it. Combining these thick shapes with the thin lines that run through the characters creates a contrast that lends more to the modernist inspirations. The letterforms are created around a shape that repeats in the majority of the letters, a small star attatched to a thin line.
To advertise Constellation, there is a brochure that unfolds into a larger poster. The poster (middle) is based off constellations,
with the scattered letters being stars that lead the eye
down the page to the description of the typeface. When folded,
the brochure (right) would have six pages and each page would showcase different aspects of Constellation,
such as the shapes used in each letter or how it could be used in a design.
